- Plan and promote health and safety awareness

- Monitor trends and advise managers on areas for improvement
In addition to having NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent H & S qualifications, you will need to possess:
- An up-to-date knowledge of health and safety law
- Experience of producing and reviewing health and safety policy and procedure
- Knowledge of good practice in promoting staff health and welfare
- Good communication, influence and report writing skills

The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of internal and external resources to manage the company's environmental liabilities. With this in mind you will provide an oversight of environmental works being undertaken by third party consultants/contractors, which potentially could range from remediation through to due diligence testing . Along with this the successful candidate will be responsible for managing third party suppliers in implementing cost-effective and innovative remediation solutions for multiple sites across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The key responsibilities for the role will be:
- Leadership in assuring safe working conditions and processes to guarantee world class safety performance
- Setting site remediation strategies considering relevant technical, legal, regulatory and community aspects
- Managing remediation activities carried out by consultants, partners and contractors
- Delivery of annual HSSE work plan targets and site safety performance
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including permits, reports, consent agreement, or legal obligations
The ideal candidate will have circa five years experience of managing remediation projects involving a variety of technical issues and wide-ranging commercial aspects. You will also be expected to have experience of planning & control processes and policies; as well as being able to identify potential improvements in delivery.
