As a seasoned professional you will have the following:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in acoustics or acoustics related discipline (e.g. physics. maths, environmental sciences, environmental health or engineering)
- 8 years post graduate experience in acoustics, primarily in Building Acoustics or Environmental Acoustics
- 5 years experience as Project Manager, to include budgeting, submission of proposals to clients, client development, winning new business, programming and report writing
- 3 years experience of staff management in a consultancy or similar workplace
- Full driving license

You will be responsible for dealing with a wide customer base, and your primary duty will be to sell our client's acoustics solutions face to face. It is crucial for the role that you have a strong technical knowledge as you will need to advise new and existing clients on the most suitable solutions.

You will operate in the South East/East of the UK (Nottingham down to the South Coast) and will be primarily home based, traveling to meet clients on a regular basis. As such it is crucial that you are self motivated and focused.
You should have a technical sales approach and it is imperative that you are a strong communicator, able to discuss complex issues with a range of clients, from technical staff to senior management. You will be credible, and will emit integrity whilst being able to build trust and close relationships.

The successful candidate will need to lead and extend the noise team to satisfy an increasing workload within the noise assessment /modelling field.
Key parts of the role will include the preparation and co-ordination of full noise and vibration assessments from industrial and infrastructure developments. This will include designing, organising and undertaking noise surveys, modelling of predicted noise emissions and recommendation of appropriate mitigation options. It would be preferable if the incumbent also had some PPC/EIA experience to support work within these fields. Key areas of industrial experience could include pharmaceutical facilities, oil and gas sector, food industry, chemical sector, waste management, paper and pulp and the power industry.
Experience of relevant legislation, standards and methodologies including BS 4142, BS 5228, CRTN and CRN would be expected. Modelling experience with NoiseMap 2000, CADNA-A and INM would be a significant advantage.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership and development of noise services within the Infrastructure.
- Responsible for designing, undertaking and reporting of noise surveys, noise assessments, and predictions and for recommending appropriate mitigation options.
- Providing a point of contact within Jacobs Infrastructure on noise and vibration issues and developing both internal and external clients with a view to extending the noise and vibration business in general.
- Responsible for building a successful noise and vibration team within the existing environmental division.
- Responsible for technical review of noise and vibration reports and of noise and vibration components of EIAs, PPC applications etc.
- Responsible for preparing technical and financial input to proposals for Noise and Vibration assessment work.
You will have a minimum of 5 years’ noise assessment/modelling experience in an industrial, consultancy or regulatory background along with experience of PPC, EIAs and planning noise and vibration assessments regulated industrial sector, environmental consultancy or Local Authority.
